Breath of Life

Three years ago when God laid this beautiful ministry on my heart, I began faithfully praying about what to name it.
As I continued to pray, God revealed to me the one word that encompasses our ministry. LIFE. Physical life. Spiritual life.

The word “life” lead to “Breath of Life”. Our organization is founded on Genesis 2:7 which says, “And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and BREATHED into his nostrils the BREATH OF LIFE; and man became a LIVING SOUL.” What we offer to the mamas and their families is not only about meeting their physical needs but also offering them a breath of life spiritually.

One evening I was enjoying some time outside. The sun was setting and there was a gentle, cool breeze. It was a sacred, still moment that allowed the Lord to speak to my heart. I looked over at the dandelions. As the wind caught the seeds, I immediately thought of Genesis 2:7. I imagined God breathing the breath of life into Adam. At that moment I knew that a dandelion had to be part of our logo.

However, the meaning actually runs much deeper. Picture how seeds are distributed. The wind scatters them throughout the ends of the earth. Isn’t that similar to what Jesus commanded in Matthew 28:19 when He said “go and make disciples of all nations”? Isn’t that exactly what we are doing as missionaries? Spreading the great commission? We receive the breath of life, then the seeds (gospel) are scattered across fields (nations) to create new life.
