In August, Nurse Timay began her rigorous 12 month skilled birth attendant/midwifery course through Midwives for Haiti. After Nurse Timay graduates this coming September, she will return to Dèsarmes and work alongside us to provide skilled care to women and their families. She will be the first skilled birth attendant within the community of Dèsarmes.
Nurse Timay along with her birthing assistant Guiline, pre-register all of the expectant mothers for our two-day expectant mothers classes. They also provide prenatal, delivery and postnatal care to the women through home visits.
